How to Spot Modelling Scams and Unsafe Castings

Verify the organiser

Look for a real business identity, consistent online presence, clear contact information and a casting brief with specific requirements. A social media account alone is not proof of legitimacy.

Watch for pressure and guarantees

Be wary of guaranteed contracts, requests for urgent payments, unexpected travel arrangements or claims that you must buy an expensive portfolio package to secure work.

Protect your information

Do not send passport scans, bank details or intimate photographs to an unverified contact. Use established application channels and share only what is necessary at each stage.

Make meetings safer

For a first meeting, prefer a verified professional venue, tell someone where you are going and arrange your own transport. Under-18s should involve a parent or guardian in all arrangements.

Know you can leave

If the brief changes, boundaries are ignored or you feel unsafe, stop the session and leave. Save messages and report suspicious listings to the relevant platform or authorities.
