Aim for variety, not volume
Start with a small selection of strong photographs that show your face clearly, your natural appearance and your ability to express different moods. Six excellent images are more useful than thirty near-identical ones.
Plan a simple shot list
Consider a clean headshot, a full-length image, a natural-light portrait and one or two looks relevant to your preferred modelling category. Discuss the shot list with your photographer in advance.
Choose the right photographer
Review complete portfolios, not only social media highlights. Look for consistent lighting, respectful presentation and experience with the type of modelling you want to pursue.
Clarify the agreement
Confirm the fee, number of edited images, turnaround time, cancellation terms and exactly where photographs may be published. A portfolio session does not automatically grant unlimited commercial usage rights.
Refresh thoughtfully
Replace outdated images as your appearance or skills change. Keep your strongest current photographs prominent and avoid excessive retouching that makes you look unlike yourself.
